TIME Just Confirmed It: Entrepreneurs Can Change the World

Each year for 94 years, TIME Magazine has crowned one society-shifting individual its “Person of the Year.” Over the years gone by, the recognition has gone to presidents, chancellors, climate activists, mayors, researchers, and even a pope.

This week, TIME announced its pick for 2021: Elon Musk.

With Elon Musk gracing the cover of the storied magazine, entrepreneurs everywhere are, in essence, being recognized as well. The recognition is a testament to the power of a single entrepreneur to change habits as engrained as a daily commute, to upend industries as giant as oil and gas, and to revolutionize a process as complex as automobile assembly.

As TIME Magazine is declaring with its “Person of the Year” selection, entrepreneurs can have major impact on society at large. And if Elon Musk is any indicator, that world-changing entrepreneurial drive often starts in childhood.

Elon Musk’s first entrepreneurial venture was writing code for a video game called Blastar. A payment processing company and car brand later, it’s clear Elon’s youthful entrepreneurial roots grew into an impressive entrepreneur

His advice for young entrepreneurs? "I think it is possible for ordinary people to choose to be extraordinary."

TIME Magazine clearly agrees.
